Doctor of Economics, Professor, Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, Ukraine

Born on 16 July 1963 in the city of Lubny, Poltava region. Citizen of Ukraine.

Higher education:

In 1985, graduated from the Faculty of Organisation of Mechanised Processing of Economic Information at the Kharkiv Engineering and Economic Institute, specialising in “Organisation of Mechanised Processing of Economic Information” (with honours).

In 1993, graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Kharkiv State University, specialising in “Mathematics”.

From 1985 to 1988, pursued postgraduate studies at the Kharkiv Engineering and Economic Institute. In 1989, defended a thesis for the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences in the specialisation “Economics, Planning and Organisation of Industrial Management and its Sectors”.

From 1989 to 2004, held positions as lecturer and associate professor at Kharkiv National Economic University. Since 2004 to the present, has been Head of the Department of Economic and Mathematical Modelling at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University.

In 2007, defended a doctoral thesis for the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences in the specialisation 08.00.11 – Mathematical Methods, Models and Information Technologies in Economics.

Since 2011 – Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Economic-Mathematical Methods at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University.

L.M. Malyarets is the author of more than 300 scientific publications. Over the years of scientific activity, she has supervised 12 Candidates of Economic Sciences and 5 Doctors of Philosophy. She leads the scientific school “Economic-Mathematical Methods and Models of Economics and Management”. Under her supervision and with her participation, 15 research projects have been completed commissioned by Ukrainian enterprises and funded from the state budget.

L.M. Malyarets is an expert in her field within the Scientific Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Section “Economics”, and since 2022 – a member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the certification of scientific personnel in economic sciences.

For her productive scientific and pedagogical activity, she has been awarded the Badge of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine “Excellent in Education of Ukraine” (2005), the Badge “For Scientific Achievements” (2009), twice a laureate of the Golden Badge of Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University (2011, 2016), winner of the competition “Higher School of Kharkiv Region – Best Names (2011)” in the nomination “Head of Department”, Commendation of the Head of Kharkiv City Council (2015), scholarship holder in science named after M.I. Tugan-Baranovsky (Economics) from the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2016), Commendation of the Head of Kharkiv Regional Council (2018), Certificate of Honour of Kharkiv City Council (2020), Certificate of Honour of Kharkiv Military Administration (2023), Distinction of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “For Training the Next Generation of Scientists” (2024), and Certificate of Honour of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2025).
