Development Management

The editorial policy of the “Development Management” journal is based on the principles of objectivity and impartiality in the selection of articles for publication; high demands on the quality of scientific research; obligatory peer review of articles; collegiality in making decisions on the publication of articles; accessibility and efficiency in communicating with authors; strict compliance with copyright and related rights. The main criterion in the selection of materials for publication is their originality and relevance of ideas, the scientific and factual reliability of the presented material.

The purpose of the “Development Management” is to publish scientific studies that test, extend or elaborate management theory and contribute to enhance the field of management development, practice, and research. Articles that address issues related to firms, public enterprises and nonprofit organizations on regional and international level are welcomed. The prime requirement for an article will be that it is relevant to management development; makes a significant original contribution to the field; contains elements which have general application; and is within the scope of the journal coverage.

Beginning with Vol. 24, No. 1, 2025, the editorial board narrowed the thematic scope of the journal. The journal publishes materials on the following main areas:

• Management: focuses on the latest trends and research in business management. Topics include organizational behavior, leadership strategies, performance optimization, change, finance, risk management, and innovation in management practices.
• Public Management and Administration: explores aspects of governance, policy formulation, and public sector management. It covers topics like public policy analysis, governmental structures, customs administration, public sector reforms, and the role of public administration in societal development.
• Insurance: covers risk management, development of insurance products and policies, analytics, actuarial sciences, as well as financial and legal regulation of insurance activities.
• Information Systems and Technologies: addresses the evolving role of technology in management improvement, logistics and business, governance. Topics include the study of information system design, cybersecurity, data analytics, technology-driven business transformation, and the impact of emerging technologies on organizational processes.

The journal publishes relevant studies that make significant contributions to the field of research in terms of advancing management theory or methodology, address issues of general importance and/or current interest, and generate new ideas that go beyond the research framework. The primary audience of the journal is business practitioners, management development experts, academicians, doctoral students, lecturers, workers in the IT sector, and government officials interested in management issues, processes and experiences.
